BALTIMORE – US Lacrosse is bringing the nation’s best women’s lacrosse players to Disney's Wide World of Sports® Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., for the second annual Champions Challenge. The event, featuring the U.S. Elite and Developmental Teams, as well as the University of Massachusetts and two-time defending NCAA champion Northwestern University, takes place the weekend of Jan. 27-28, 2007.
The Champions Challenge Weekend features a series of exhibition games, U.S. Team clinics for local girls’ lacrosse players and a US Lacrosse Coaches Education Program Level 1 Instructional Clinic.
Five games will be held on Sunday, Jan. 28 with the U.S. Elite and Developmental teams each playing games against Northwestern and Massachusetts. In addition, the women’s club teams from the University of Central Florida and the University of Florida will play a regular season game to wrap up the day’s competition. Players from the teams will be available for autographs after the games.

Members of the U.S. Elite and Developmental teams will conduct two players’ clinics on Saturday, Jan. 27, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. One clinic is geared for girls in grades 4 through 8 and the second is for girls in grades 9 through 12. The clinics are an excellent opportunity for young players to learn from some of the best players in the United States and participants in the clinics will receive tickets to Sunday’s exhibition games at no additional cost. • Click here for more information about how to register for the player’s clinics.
Additionally, a US Lacrosse Coaches Education Program Level 1 Instructional Clinic will be held on Saturday Jan. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for women’s lacrosse coaches.
